A general purpose static solid-state NMR probe with VT capability has been designed
and built for use in the narrow 29 mm bore space of our high field 830 MHz magnet.
The instrument has temperature range from -60°C to +120°C with VT controls programmable from Bruker spectrometer.
It can cover low- and mid-gamma nuclei range of and can operate with different, interchangeable solenoidal RF coils of various sizes and geometry.
The frequency range can be changed by choice of the appropriate tuning insert and attaching it onto the probehead.
For variable temperature regime demonstration,
spectra were collected from a sample of lead nitrate (PbNO3) at several temperatures.
Lead nitrate has a known dependence of chemical shift on temperature.
The observed chemical shift difference shown in Figure below is in good agreement with predictions.
