PERSONAL SUMMARY
I am part of the NMR instrument development group at NHMFL, a.k.a. RF Program, since 1999.
My recent R&D interests include novel solid state NMR probe designs for lossy and hydrated biological samples.
Elimination of destructive internal RF heating is of particular importance when salts are present in biological samples.
More on the challenges facing such instruments and the user hardware that we built in our lab can be found in this recent
presentation for NHMFL Users Commitee.
Our instrument development group also provides support for NMR experiments on high field resistive magnets.
Before coming to NHMFL, I had primary responsibility to design imaging hardware at Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Laboratory at
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which included microimaging probes and gradients, animal imaging probes,
tissue-stimulating devices, and so on.
